Alfredo Vilano

Creative Manager

An alumnus of Muir College Class of 2000, Alfredo graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Computing in the Arts Major. His design experience extends to even before his college days, and he wakes every morning eager to apply all of his skills and expertise to ASGS projects. Currently, he enjoys working with the Center for Student Involvement, and can't wait to add his creative magic to the program. He makes mountains out of molehills, puts the "ooh " in taboo, and challenges you to question "Is this guy serious, OR NAH?" When the sun sets, this hip hop dancer turned country line dancing king takes to the stage. We're all certain he's stumbled across the Fountain of Youth, but he won't tell.

Joshric Aurea

Senior Graphic Designer

As a UCSD alum from Sixth College, Joshric started as a freshman student designer at the AS Graphic Studio and has stuck around since. Originally pursuing Computer Science as a career, he pivoted into the world of Art and Design when he started working at ASGS. Ever since then, he's pursued a multitude of forms of creativity and expression and is eager to keep learning and improving his art. Aside from making art, he enjoys video games, collecting art books, and traveling.

Israel Magallon

Senior Graphic Designer

Israel is a graduate from San Jose State University and has over 5 years of print and promotional experience. He has excellent knowledge of the apparel decoration production. He enjoys spending time with family and exploring the great outdoors. Some of his hobbies include photography, climbing, and online gaming with friends.

Nichole Gray

Marketing Specialist

Originally from San Diego, Nichole earned her BA in Journalism and an MA in Comm from San Diego State University. During her graduate studies, Nichole found inspiration working as a Teaching Assistant and also published her thesis. Additionally, Nichole has worked as a marketing and public relations professional - serving various nonprofits in the San Diego area. Beyond work, Nichole is dedicated to animal welfare with a specific fondness for cats. She lives in Ocean Beach with her husband, and their beloved cat - Gus Gus.

Melissa Ewart

Founder, Chief Executive Consultant, Mom

Melissa, or more commonly known as the Graphic Studio's main character, is the founder of the AS Graphic Studio. She is a Revelle College alumna with a B.A. in Visual Arts, Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts. Melissa is our go-to-gal for absolutely anything and has been the heart of the Graphic Studio since 2008. She spends most of her time thinking up crazy ways to integrate innovative graphic design solutions to the UC San Diego community, but when she's off the clock (which is rare) she is somewhere cute with her family and friends, and a Diet Pepsi in hand. She is a craft master, beach lover, and mother to us all!

You can often find Rylee hanging out in the office with her 13-inch iPad, designing stickers, doodling, and creating new designs. Outside of work, she enjoys going on runs (she's hoping to run a half marathon), discovering new restaurants around San Diego (Food Rec: Board and Brew), and spending all her money at vintage and flea markets with her roommate, Nicoletta.

Ben is a second-year student majoring in Cognitive Science (Design Interaction). He loves exploring the sweet spot where illustrations meet graphic design, bringing ideas to life! Outside of school, you can catch him cafe-hopping, playing the guitar, online shopping, or playing ROBLOX with his friends. His go-to favorite artist is none other than beabadoobee!

Angela is a fourth-year student majoring in Data Science and Psychology in Marshall College. She’s passionate about using technology to help people through building intuitive interfaces, analyzing data to make decisions for the future, or helping others grasp coding concepts. Besides debugging code for hours, she is usually discovering new cafes with her friends to find the next best matcha latte, crocheting a little animal, or watching hour-long movie analyses.

Olivia Martini is a fourth-year student double majoring in Media Industries and Linguistics (Language and Society). She has a background in film direction, short form content creation, and social media management. She first started her work on social media at ten years old, managing a Hunger Games fan account which amassed the attention of several cast members. Her passion is creating media that connects with people around the world.

Cameron or better known as Cam (She/Her) is a fourth year Communications Major and Marketing Minor at Eleanor Roosevelt College. She loves all things creative, whether it’s film, fashion, or TV she’s always looking for her next creative endeavor. Cam uses her background in studio art and social media to help formulate ASGS’s marketing campaigns. When she isn't filming and editing/designing content for ASMC you can find her at a concert, a cafe or thrifting! She’s always happy to chat about movies, music and go on spontaneous adventures!
